A spectacular & very beautiful solid oak dining table, made specially for my parents by Rupert Griffiths (nb not Nigel Rupert Griffiths). It has been with them since the early 70s & remains in almost flawless condition. It comes with the full set of eight matching chairs with rush seating (six ladder-back dining chairs & two carvers). A few of chairs need attention in terms of tightening the joints & possibly re-seating but the wood is all in immaculate condition & the rush is clean & presentable. (All joints are constructed using only wood..any bolts used to hold the table together are solid iron). The table was one of two made from a particular tree. It has the distict natural, wavy edge & is beautifully finished. The width measurement is approximate as it varies along the table. It is exceptionally heavy & will need two very strong people to put it back together (simple to do though). Immense character & charm.
