REDUCED PRICE FOR A LIMITED TIME High quality furniture built to last. A very well built bed at a fair price, the low-profile platform bed is by far my most popular piece. As with all of my beds, mortise & tenon joinery is used making this piece both strong & quiet. This ancient style of joinery is designed to last a lifetime & will also prevent those unwanted squeaks that so many beds develop over time. Mortised bed rail hardware is also used to make assembly & disassembly simple & quick while also creating an extremely strong joint. The low-profile platform bed is constructed from 100% solid American Black Cherry. No MDF or plywoods are used in my beds. The bed can be built to accommodate a twin, full, queen, king or California king mattress. A HEADBOARD IS NOT INCLUDED but can be added. Assembly is fairly simple & usually takes less then 30 minutes. All required tools & hardware are included with the bed. The bed is designed to be used without a box spring. The slats are constructed from solid pine. Notches have been cut into the hardwood slat supports to provide spaces for the slats to rest. This notched system ensures proper spacing between the slats & allows for quick & easy assembly. The slats are approximately 3.625 wide & spaced approximately 1.75 apart. This spacing will provide adequate support & cooling airflow for your mattress without the use of a box spring. A solid hard maple center beam with a center leg is included in all beds full size & larger. Pre-attached hardware allows the center beam to be easily slid into place with no tools or fuss. The center beam is extremely strong & will prevent any sagging in the slats. No stain is used on this bed. A satin top-coat accentuates the wood's natural beauty while providing a protective finish. This extra inch will result in a 1/4 gap on all four sides of the mattress to allow room for tucking in sheets. This LOW-PROFILE platform bed is built to support the mattress bottom at a height of 8 off the floor. This height should put the top of a 10 mattress at 18 off the floor. With the mattress platform at a height of 8, the lower 2.5 of the mattress will be concealed inside the rails. Shipping Method I ship my beds with UPS Ground. The bed will be wrapped carefully in protective layers & shipped in four double-walled boxes. All individual components are carefully wrapped in bubble wrap to prevent damage during shipping.
