High quality furniture built to last. Shown in both walnut & cherry, the low-profile platform bed is constructed from 100% solid hardwood. Also available in cherry, maple or African mahogany, the low-profile platform bed can be built to accommodate a full-size, queen, king or California king mattress. This low-profile platform bed is built to support the mattress bottom at a height of 7 off the floor. This height should put the top of a 10 mattress at 17 off the floor. With the mattress platform at a height of 7, the lower 3.5 of the mattress will be concealed inside the rails. The head & foot rails are joined to the legs using mortise & tenon joinery. The side rails join to the legs using simple but strong bed rail hardware that allows the bed to be easily disassembled when necessary. The slats are constructed from solid poplar hardwood. Notches have been cut into the slat supports to provide spaces for the slats to rest. This notched system ensures proper spacing between the slats & allows for quick & easy assembly. A solid hard maple center beam with a center leg is included in all beds full size & larger. No stain is used on this bed. Shellac is used to accentuate the wood's natural beauty. A satin poly top-coat is used over the shellac to provide a durable finish. The space for the mattress will be approximately 1/2 inch longer & wider than the mattress dimensions. This extra half inch will result in a 1/4 gap on all four sides of the mattress to allow room for tucking in sheets. The height of this platform bed can be customized to any desired height. This bed is also available in unfinished poplar for those who would prefer to paint the bed themselves. Shipping Method All beds are shipped UPS Ground. The bed will be shipped in three or four large boxes. All individual components are carefully wrapped in bubble wrap to prevent damage during shipping. Sensitive parts are protected with solid pine to prevent damage. Once shipped, your item's tracking numbers will be provided to you. A SIGNATURE WILL BE REQUIRED AT DELIVERY.
