Fabulously stylish mid century bud or orchid vase by WMF Germany. Signed to the base. Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik were by the end of the 1900s the world's largest producers & exporters of household metal ware & their items are also very collectible. Here we have a beautifully elegant orchid vase which sits on a squarish base which is gently domed in shape, rising to meet the base of the vase. The body of the vase has a softly curved shape, wider at the base, thinning towards to top where it ends as if cut at an angle revealing part of the inside of the vase. It will hold a single bloom beautifully & still look absolutely gorgeous if displayed empty. A vintage piece dating I would say to the mid century or 1960s. The base has green felt which is a little marked & is shown. The vase generally is in very good vintage condition with some minor blemishes. It is shiny & retains that special 'something' of a high quality piece which was well made & has been loved & used but which still has much to give. It stands 8 tall. Base roughly 2 square.
