This is a wooden Christmas plaque. Done in a tole painted style. True folk art. Made in 1997 by JDI Inc. of Fallbrook, CA. Artis signed - Raquel Salgado A heartfelt greeting to your Christmas guests! This folk art piece is constructed in two sections. The top piece serves as the hanger. It has Merry Christmas printed on either side of a heart-shaped cut out. The bottom section features a house with a tri-pitched roof. Painted in candy cane stripes! The facade of the house has a front door adorned with a wreath & garland. On each side of the door is a window. One window displays the decorated Christmas tree; with angel tree topper! The opposite window has red curtains, green boughs & a single lit candle. The shrubbery below each window is lightly covered with snow. The entire scene tells an inviting story. This piece is very substantial & well-made. The wood is 1 thick. The painting is naive & folksy. The two sections are held together by screw eyes. It measures 13 tall x 10.5 wide x 1 thick. I could find no issues. Minor sticker residue on the back. What a sweet piece to add to your front porch at Christmas time. Or, swap out a picture & hang this up all through December! Added at the top - raffia, twine or red grosgrain ribbon would be in keeping with its navet. Charming. Folk Art Christmas Plaque - 1997 Artist Signed
