This striking seasoned elm tree plank has been lovingly handcrafted from raw timber to console table; chosen specifically from a farm in Worcestershire, this locally sourced elm wood was felled for its unique shape, its characteristic wave patterns, & unusual double live edge. in our workshop, the natural finish has been achieved through a perfected, complex process of hand sanding with specialised tools & the knowledge & craftsmanship of the carpenter. The soft to the touch effect has been created through pure craftsmanship, in addition to a blend of hard wax & resins. These oils & resins were painstakingly researched & chosen to emphasise the natural hues & compliment the surface of the hard elm wood specifically. These carefully selected mixes of natural oils & resins have been used to compliment the differing grains of the wood, creating parts which are highly polished; in harmony with the similar finish of the bark & knots which meander down the edge of the wood. This really is a stunning piece; it's one of a kind & will not be found in any shop. It's beautiful rings & grain form natural swirls & colours which one cannot help but be in awe of; a truly distinctive shelf.
