Pair of vintage Art Panels believed to originate from Africa. Consisting of two lengths of a lightweight wood which have either been stained or singed to a dark colour & then relief carved with a design of a man on one & an antelope on the other. The former is slightly larger, measuring approx 18 long by 5.75 wide & just under 0.25 deep. The antelope panel measures approx 17.75 long by 5.25 wide by just under 0.25 thick. The man panel is signed with the initials 'M.B.' but the antelope is unsigned. Both are in good pre-owned condition with some wear to the edges of both & a patch of scuffing on the antelope by the horns, as well as old sticker marks on the front & back of the man panel. There is also evidence of the wood having had a former use with old nail holes in the larger panel & an irregular scratch down the back of the smaller panel but they remain attractive art pieces - please see my photos.
