Vibrant hand-decorated majolica plate believed to originate from Catalonia, Spain. Measuring approx 11.5 in diameter & approx 1.5 deep with a floral design in yellow, blue & orange on a white ground. With a hand-written mark on the back reading 'FANG i FOC' & a number which looks like 'Ni 440'. 'Fang i Foc' is Catalan for 'Mud & Fire' & may be the maker's mark or a pottery's name but I have not been able to find any further information. With a string loop for hanging the plate on the wall. in good pre-owned, used condition with small manufacturing anomalies including firing bubble marks here & there & some missed patches of glaze on the rim - please see my photos.
