For this piece, I worked with Turkish floral designs from the 16th Century Ottoman Iznik period. The hand-painted pieces are fixed onto a painted wood. It size 60cm x 45cm X 2cm. The piece brings freshness to an interior with its beautifully painted tulips & carnations. Being born & raised in Istanbul/Turkey & lived in London for almost three decades, the series was inspired by my cultural background. Underglaze colours & transparent glaze, high fired porcelain.
