A beautiful mug celebrating the Diamond (60th) Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. The mug has is hand painted & decorated including an elephant, roses & flags. It is inscribed with Empress of India, 1837, To commemorate the 60 years reign of her majesty Queen Victoria, June 20th 1987, Queen of an empire on which the sun never sets. The manufacturers name is missing from the base, but I believe it is made by William Lowe. Considering the age of the mug (124 years!) it is in reasonable condition. There is some wear & tear damage & the glaze is crazed, please see the photos as this mug is sold as seen.
