Dimensions: 3.6 ft x 6.9 ft - 110 cm x 210 cm Weight: 8.8 lb - 4 kg Dimensions: 3.6 ft x 6.9 ft - 110 cm x 210 cm Handwoven Materials: Wool,Thread Region: High Atlas Azilal is a provincial capital in the center of Morocco, located in the Atlas Mountains. It is also the capital of the MGoun Conservation Area, home to a unique dialect of Tamazight, & also home to one of the most unique Moroccan rugs which became popular recently. Families in Azilal make these rugs for their own homes, therefore, each family makes their own matchless designs. These rugs are extremely soft & give the luxurious feeling underfoot; as they are handwoven with natural wool mixed with cotton or sometimes made of only cotton. Each rug takes several months to be fully done. They are known for the horizontal Amazighen Moroccan traditional design & colorful & balanced palettes. Each rug tells the story of their weavers, & the families pass the weaving art from a generation to the next. The symbols & characters on these rugs are archaic, coming from the nomadic tribes. To combine the abstract, traditional & vivid touch & the softness & superior quality; choose Azilal rugs for your space. They will absolutely match any home style. Vintage rugs refer to rugs that are retro. These rugs were mostly woven around mid 20th century, specifically during the 70s, therefore; they hold a lot of nostalgic vibes in them. Moroccan rugs became popular in the West thanks to mid-century modern designers. Le Corbusier is one of the designers who combined the thick Amazigh pile with their own designs. Most of these rugs are Beni Ouarain rugs handwoven by local women, using different palette colors & different shapes & designs that were inspired by their own real-life stories. Their primitive touch was a reason for designers to integrate them in their modern creations. Thus, these vintage Moroccan rugs are a perfect addition for a modernist style.
