Description
This gorgeous crocheted blanket is made using 50 different yarns. It is multicoloured. The one pictured is 60 x 60 inches (152 x 152 cms) & the borders are in burgundy, reds & pinks with warm cream that give a warm, rich feel to the whole afghan. A wonderful Christmas gift for him or her, welcome gift for a new house, birthday present for mother, sister, grandmother. COLOURS If you would like a different look to the one pictured, using borders made up of a) blues, greens, turquoises & cream would give a fresh, beachside look to the blanket. b) If you want fall / autumn look then oranges, browns, reds & a few greens would give a completely different appearance. c) Or do you want it to be cool with white, creams, icy blue, pale greens & light turquoise? d) as pictured - cream, burgundy, reds, pinks Please note that the colour choices refer to the borders that go around the squares, not the squares themselves. I use a multitude of different colours in the granny squares themselves. The centrepiece of 9 granny squares uses nearly 40 yarns. These colours are picked up again & again in each new part of the blanket. Each blanket will be different, & I will send you pics as it grows. The finished blanket looks like a tapestry, & I call it my 'Field of Flowers' or 'mille fiori' blanket, & has a medieval look to it. SIZES: All sizes are approximate. 60 x 60 inches (152 x 152 cms) (as shown in pics) 24 x 24 inches (60 x 60 cms). This would be the centre 9 squares with a deep border. There is a photo that will give you a good idea of this. 36 x 36 inches (90 x 90 cms). The centre 9 squares & a second layer of squares. There is a photo that will give you a good idea of this. If you want a different size or colourway, just let me know & I will give you a price. Material: Acrylic & wool (approximately 20% wool) TIMESCALE Please allow 5-8 weeks depending on the size of the blanket. SHIPPING TO US The big blanket is heavy & big, so I am afraid shipping for this one is expensive. But well worth it, because it is beautiful. If you have any questions don't hesitate to message me. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Pattern by Marion Mitchell at www.woolthreadpaint.com I used her picture of Sister blanket 1 & the pattern for Sister blanket 2 & then added a few flourishes, such as the pretty tulip stitch in the border.
