On offer is this lovely collectible canteen of cutlery. All items are in good condition overall, the stainless steel (blades) & silver plating shine up well still - there are a few small areas of ware (back of the fork tines mainly) exposing the base nickel silver (brassy tone); notable light scuffs & scratches over them commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the set. There are sixty one items in total which include: 6 x Knives measuring 23.5cm (9 & 1/4 inches) in length, 6 x Knives measuring 21cm (8 & 1/4 inches), 6 x Fish knives measuring 20.2cm (8 inches), 6 x Fish forks measuring 17cm (6 & 3/4 inches) in length, 6 x Forks measuring 19.5cm (7 & 1/2 inches), 6 x Forks measuring 17cm (6 & 3/4 inches), 6 x Dessert spoons measuring 18.2cm (7 & 1/4 inches) in length, 6 x Soup spoons measuring 17.7cm (7 inches), 6 x Coffee spoons measuring 9.5cm (3 & 3/4 inches), 5 x Teaspoons measuring 12.7cm (5 inches) in length, & 2 x Serving spoon measuring 21.5cm (8 & 1/2 inches). Please note one teaspoon is missing from this otherwise complete canteen . They're of traditional form, the spoons have been decorated with an old English pattern handle terminal & the forks with an Hanoverian pattern. All items are marked for James Ryals of Sheffield, circa third quarter of the 20th century. They all come presented in their original fitted canteen which is also in good order - the backing material has started to disintegrate & there are notable light brown specs over the lining too . Notable scuffs & scratches over the exterior but still presentable. The inside also retains a very very worn label for James Ryals. A lovely vintage canteen of cutlery ready to be collected & enjoyed once again!
