On offer is this lovely antique collectible small sugar sifter. It's in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable ware to the bowl interior exposing the base nickel silver (brassy tone) as well as light scuffs & scratches commensurate with age; notable darkened tarnish in the grooves of the handle decoration (both sides) but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the piece. It's of traditional form, the shell-grooved bowl has been decorated with a series of holes perfect for sifting / sprinkling & the handle has been beautifully decorated with an intricate chinoiserie inspired design showing floral sprays, bamboo lengths & charming flying birds - the detailing is of a good standard which displays ever so well still. Both sides are decorated. Sheffield produced by Jonathan Bell, circa late 19th century. It measures a charming 11.5cm (4 & 1/2 inches) in length & is ready to be collected & enjoyed once again!
