On offer is this lovely part set of antique cutlery. There are fifteen items in total - all of which are in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable corrosion/ verdigris specs however over the table spoon bowls as well as notable corrosion over the gilded bowls (salts & berry spoons); a small number of areas of ware where the base nickel silver (brassy tone) is showing through - back of table spoons - & notable scuffs & scratches commensurate with age but as shown in the photos all adding to the aged charm & character of the set. Included in this set: 1 x large soup ladle measuring an impressive 34.5cm (13 & 1/4 inches) in length; 1 x sauce ladle measuring 18.5cm (7 & 1/4 inches) in length; 2 x matching sugar/ ice tongs measuring 15cm (6 inches) in length; 2 x matching berry spoons with gilded bowls (corrosion/ verdigris marks) measuring 14.5cm (5 & 3/4 inches) in length; 3 x matching salt/ cruet spoons with gilded bowls (notable salt corrosion particularly over one) measuring 11cm (4 & 1/4 inches) in length, & 6 x table/ serving spoons measuring 23cm (9 inches) in length. Each item is of traditional form, beautifully decorated with the same striking handle design (shown on both their sides) & engraved initials. The detailing is of a good standard & as shown really stands out on display. All are marked for "W&HS" (Gothic font), Sheffield or Birmingham produced, circa late 19th century. A superb rare & unique set which despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected & enjoyed once again!
