ABOUT THIS PRINT Claude Monet was fascinated with painting scenes under different weather & lighting conditions, & he took this to an amazing extreme in the years 1892-4 when he painted the faade of Rouen Cathedral more than thirty times. The painting seen in this exhibition poster, 'Rouen Cathedral, West Faade', shows the Cathedral perhaps in the late afternoon or early evening, with shadows lengthening but the sun just about still clinging on to the day, allowing Monet to display his masterful skills with violet, indigo, pink & orange.
