Vintage Oak Bureau A well proportioned, solid oak writing desk with locking drop front standing on slender cabriole legs circa 1940s. The main body has been refinished in Oxford Blue chalk paint & dark waxed producing a durable deep, inky midnight surface. The interior fitted with various cubbyholes & two small drawers covered in a vintage Liberty print 'Ianthe' pattern wallpaper - a grey/blue/mauve colourway which is no longer available. Drop down drawer fronts with gilded hinges, decorative handles & new brass escutcheons. Tasselled key fob - only the bureau section locks. in good vintage condition. Some signs of honest wear to inset writing surface commensurate with age & use.
