An unusual miniature spoon for salt & condiments with a barley twist stem & Arts & Crafts style bowl. This small stylish spoon measures approximately 5 cm, 2 in length. This spoon is in very good condition with just a little tarnishing & light surface scratching, please see photos. The spoon is clearly hallmarked, with the maker mark JCP & Co for JC Plimpton & Co of Liverpool & London. Also the lion passant for sterling silver & assay city Birmingham. The date is unclear but I would suggest circa 1904. Plimptons were a company trading with the USA in various products, at this time can be seen to have traded in small silver items. Some interesting history about them is available online. A lovely antique spoon, special to use, display or collect.
