Description
This stunning vintage chandelier was likely made in 1960s Italy by Gino Vistosi. There are a total of 48 round, handmade murano glass discs. They are hanging in columns of 3 from 16 hooks arranged in two tiers, an inside & outside tier, positioned around the circular chrome platform. The murano glass disks are beautifully handcrafted, made in an amber (orange-brown) colour that works very well with the silver chrome. The chandelier has 8 lightbulb fixtures, 4 of which are pointed downwards & 4 above them pointed upwards (see electricity info). The cable is enveloped by a metal chain which securely holds this very large & heavy chandelier. This beautiful chandelier would work with a variety of interior design choices, but would look absolutely magnificent in a home with tall ceilings. DIMENSIONS (cca) Height max: 88 cm Width max: 40 cm Disk diameter: 15 cm CONDITION Very good vintage state with minor signs of age & use. As the disks are handmade there are some glass bubbles visible inside some of them (see photographs). ELECTRICITY: Requires 8 x E14 standard light screw fixtures. We recommend LED bulbs. Since taking these photos we have had the chandelier look at by a qualified electrician that fixed the wiring problem - all fixtures are in working order. ! As with all vintage electrical equipment, we have checked to see that it works, but recommend for an electrician to check it out before installing it in your home.
