Excellent Quality Antique Edwardian Carved Oak Smoker's Cabinet - Balustrade & Key. This is a really superb cabinet, not massive it measures - 51cms in height or 20 inches, 17cms in depth, 21cms or just over 8 inches in width. It dates around the turn of the 19th - 20th, the Edwardian period 1901-10 is a good estimate. It is oak that has been heavily lacquered we have not polished or cleaned it in any way. The door has a central floriate carving. It is surmounted by a brass balustrade of floral openwork this has storage space which is 4cms deep. The original key & work in working order. The opened door reveals two drawers top & bottom both with gilt plated handles decorated with an urn. The central space has storage brackets either side for three pipes each side. The top has twin holes for ease of wall mounting with two brass brackets plus it can be free standing if required. The base is decorated on the front side with typical late Victorian style carved swirls It weighs just under 3kgs. Condition is very original & untouched & it's new to the market, it has slight areas of lacquer loss to the sides but exists in a remarkable condition with a delightfully nutty orange oak series of tones. It's a pleasure to the eye & could be used for anything now.
