Beautiful 20x20 inch cushion cover made of Bogolan fabric & cotton. Give an ethnic bohemian touch to your decoration with this cushion. It closes with a zipper. The pillow has two sides, bogolan/ mud on one side & rustic 93% cotton / 7% poliester canvas on the other. .:: WHAT IS THE BOGOLAN? ::. Bogolan or Bogolanfini means 'made of mud or mud cloth' in Bambara, the main language of Mali. Fabric made of cotton 100% hand-woven originally in Mali, West Africa & dyed with fermented mud & other organic dyes. The technique of dyeing is 100% organic, free of any kind of harmful chemicals. The artisans draw symbols on these fabrics to tell traditional stories of its peoples, proverbs & culture. Used in the past by warriors & hunters to camouflage themselves. However today, people around the world are using them to connect with their African heritage. Making the fabric takes approximately one week to complete. .:: PLEASE NOTE::. - Since this is handmade by craftsmen, therefore, there may be some irregularities on the weave or in the sewing between the cloth stripes. - The cloth is dyed with natural pigments, & althoug the cloth has been washed it may fade. - Each piece is unique. - Color may differ in color that appears on the monitor. - It's only recommended to spot clean or dry clean.
