Have nothing in your home that you don't know to be useful or believe to be beautiful William Morris c1825 Coalport Royal Shape Porcelain Cup & Saucer finely decorated with fine moulding in the surface, white ground,hand painted opulent foliage gilding. 2/142 hand painted on the base. Coalport was one of the leading Potters of iconic designs in the 19th & 20th century. The Pottery emerged around 1800 in Shropshire, along with other leading Potteries such as Minton, Spode, Davenport & many others had established. Considering the age, this stunning duo is in excellent condition. Very minimal loss of the gilding which commensurate with age. Please study the photos carefully. The dimensions are 5 7/8 wide for the saucer & 3 7/8 wide, 2 tall for the cup. This magnificent collection belonged to an expert of 1750 - 1900 British Potteries, which he lovingly collected, catalogued & researched for over 50 + years.
