Densely Embroidered Patchwork Throw Cover, Wall Art Cowrie Shell Motif with shisha mirrors. Size: 60 x 90 Last photo shows it on a Queen size bed. This hand embroidered textile is made in India & would make a lovely & meaningful wall hanging or a bed throw. It could also be used as the deck of a bedspread by adding a solid color coordinating fabric to the sides & bottom of the throw. 100% cotton Because they come from the ocean, Cowrie Shells are a sacred symbol of Love Sea Goddesses in various cultures. According to African legend, the cowrie shells represent the highly powerful Goddess protection, as well as connection with the strength & dense power of the Ocean. Cowrie shells have also been recognized as prosperity. Even more, these shells also symbolize the power of destiny. Cowrie shells were traded for goods & services throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, & Oceania, & used as money as early as the 14th century on Africa's western coast. Please note, the cowrie shells are all hand embroidered. There are no actual shells on this piece.
