An exceptional, fine & impressive antique George V English sterling silver bottle coaster; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection This exceptional antique George V sterling silver bottle coaster has a plain cylindrical form with a flared rim & domed spreading base with a collet style rim. The upper portion of the body is embellished with a broad band of pierced iconic organic, interlacing scrolling leaf decoration flanked with embossed girdles. The body is fitted with two sterling silver, shaped handles with impressive scrolling leaf & floral medallion decorated sockets. This impressive example of antique silverware retains the original turned mahogany wood base. The bottle coaster is fitted with green baize to the underside. Condition This antique sterling silver bottle coaster is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality & in exceptional condition. The pierced & embossed decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
