Insurance is not included with shipping but is recommended on high value items. Adorable late 1920s to early 1930s Polonaise costume for fancy dress, Halloween, or a masquerade ball. Made of two parts, the main dress & a little bodice cover. Trimmed with pretty lace ruffles & bows a plenty, it is a real delight. The skirt is lightly bustled, more volume could be added with the addition of a bustle pad. The print is on cotton, which is lined in purple silk on the bustle, & the main dress has a silk top with cotton print sleeves. The dress & waistcoat / bodice, fasten with numerous hooks & eyes. The illustrations are from fancy dress catalogues from 1929 -30. Size Small Measurements taken flat & doubled - this is the size of the dress not the body it will fit. Please allow a minimum 2 inch ease between your measurements & those of the garment. Bust 36 inches Waist 26 inches Hip 46 inches Length 48 inches Condition : The print is just gorgeous. The plain purple skirt has a couple of spots plus fade lines throughout. The silk camisole is in good condition with a little bit of thinning in a couple of tiny spots, plus the silk ribbon could do with replacing. A couple of hooks/eyes are missing.
