Description

This elegant 1940s dressing table is a real statement piece. It has a classic shape with lovely features such as Queen Anne legs with carved detailing, & pretty handles. I just felt it needed updating so I used Grand Illusions Vintage chalkpaint in Fossil Grey on the legs & body to make a contrast with the lovely walnut wood which I left on the drawer fronts & top. I gave the paintwork a lightly distressed finish & sealed it with wax to create a burnished effect. I also dusted the handles & motifs with gold enamel paint to bring back their sparkle. It has three deep drawers which run smoothly. There are a few age-related marks to the top but these do not distract from the overall look. I have oiled the wood to enhance & preserve its colour & shine. I have paired the dresser with a stool & gold triple mirror - both pieces are listed for sale separately. The measurements are as follows: 44.5 inches/113 cm wide, 19 inches/48 cm deep & stands 30.5 inches/77 cm tall.
