User safety has been given a high priority, and as well as the robust disc guard, the grinder is restart protected so it won't start up unexpectedly if the switch is left in the On position. The spindle locking system means that accessories can be changed easily and conveniently. The metal gear head has a flatter profile for improved access in tight spots, and the handle can be affixed on the left or right hand side of the tool.
