Description
This wheel is named after the local mountain of the DT Swiss headquarters in Biel, Mon Chasseral is one of Switzerland's highest at 1, 606 meters and is located in the Jura mountain range. Perhaps it should come as no surprise then that it inspired the name of the Swiss brands ultra-lightweight climbing wheel. Probably the most immediately significant lightweight component of the wheel is the aero-optimized carbon fibre hub shell which comes with SINC ceramic bearings fitted for the lowest possible amount of friction. For the rear wheel DT have chosen the Ratchet System 36 freehub providing near instant pick up of pedal input within an interchangeable and serviceable mechanism. The bladed straight pull spokes are steel to enable a stiff build with low spoke counts whilst maintaining lasting durability and repairability. Appropriate for wind cheating under all weather conditions the 35 mm deep rim profile cuts through the air with an 18mm internal width ideally suited to 25c tyres but accepting other sizes with ease. Like all DT Swiss wheels, the Mon Chasseral is tubeless ready out the box and this model also comes complete with Swissstop carbon brake pads and a wheel bag.
