Description
The Foundation 100 RP is on the path to legendary status. The classic RP shaping combines a 15m radius with a shorter effective edge to promote performance that is both forgiving to pivot and slide, yet powerful and reactive when locked into a carve. A tapered, flatter sidecut section that blends at the contact points adds performance and smoothness in all conditions. Using a triaxial fiberglass laminate with unidirectional carbon stringers means that the ski is still super poppy and fun, but compared to the more aggressive Alchemist range they feel a bit more damp and forgiving to use. Get the most out of your all-mountain 100mm selection with a ski that makes your skiing easier and still has many higher performance characteristics.Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type The F100 simply works whatever the conditions. It carves and cruises on marked runs a like a much narrower all mountain ski, and thanks to the width and construction it deals with any conditions when you get it off-piste. In powder the rocker and RP shaping create effortless turns. As DPS often comment, it is the Daily Driver, the ski to take when you need it to work everywhere.Skier TypeAdvanced skiers who want one ski to do everything, spending plenty of time off-piste whether skiing fresh snow or mixed conditions and still capable of cruising and carving when on groomed runs. It is slightly more forgiving than the Alchemist version but it still has plenty of energy and the shape ensures it is playful. Heavier intermediates would enjoy it too.OverviewShapeThe RP shape is both surfy and intuitive. The tapered tip and tail initiate turns effortlessly and allows them to be exited with clean carves or easily washed out. 100mm provides impressive float when you find soft snow, working with the shape to allow the ski to flow through turns in powder and keep a fun. surfy feel even when the snow isn’t deep or you’re on groomers. The turny 15m radius feels great on firmer snow and helps create the flowing feel in softer conditions.RockerRocker at the tip and tail equates to 45% rocker. Sounds like a lot but it works perfectly with the shaping. The camber underfoot makes the most of the carbon construction and playful 15m radius.CoreThe bi-phase wood core of poplar and bamboo ensures the weight is kept down and both durability and liveliness are prioritised.ConstructionSidewalls maximise the precision and the energy transfer, resulting in the best levels of edge grip and control. The Foundation build employs a combination of techniques to maximise performance.Key FeaturesFoundationA supremely damp, powerful, and durable construction. employing best-in-class components from start-to-finish, weight was not a factor during the design process. Triaxial fibreglass wraps the bamboo and poplar bi-phase wood core, while unidirectional carbon stringers add torsional stiffness. The result is an on-snow feel that produces a wonderful blend of power and dampness, and is readily accessible to a wide range of skier profiles.RP ShapingThe RP chassis started with the first Wailer 112 RP design that incorporated generous tip/tail rocker and taper. RP originally stood for ‘Resort Powder’, and the legend began. Its shape opens doors and makes truly versatile powder planing accessible to many. The RP’s core shaping equation is impressive, 45% rocker merged with a 15m sidecut and means natural, intuitive skiing.eB tester’s comments: Technical SpecificationsSize (cm)Tip Width (mm)Waist Width (mm)Tail Width (mm)Radius (m)Weight (g)171131100117151840179132100117151930184133100118152050189134100119152200General InformationSkier Ability: Advanced/expertTerrain Type: Freeride Rocker: Tip/Tail RockerRadius: ShortBase: SinteredBindings: n/aDIN: n/aConstruction: Full SidewallCore: Wood, Carbon Demo: YesSizing Description: Forehead to over head height.
