Description
After years of rigorous testing and development, DPS have released their most forward-thinking powder ski to-date. Combining the deep snow capabilities of the Lotus 124 with the high-octane confidence of the RPC, the result is an exceedingly capable big-mountain tool. The 117mm waist floats in the depths of mid-winter storm skiing yet remains nimble for rolling edge-to-edge at a moment’s notice on steep spines. The 21-meter turn radius takes direct influence from the RPC, supplying point-and-go stability for flashing high-alpine lines at eye-watering speeds.Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type It’s a powder ski first and foremost, capable of charging steep routes or winding back and just enjoying some mellower fresh pow slopes.Skier TypeGood skiers looking to add to their quiver with a dedicated deep snow model. It’s surprisingly easy to ski thanks to rocker and shape, but you can still put this on an edge and open the throttle thanks to the high-quality construction.OverviewShapeLotus-shaped skis embody the quest for the perfect powder turn. They feature larger turn radii that encourage big, sweeping turns, elongated rocker lines that allow the skis to quickly plane to the surface and pivot easily, and fat waist widths that generate the floatation and speed desired by experienced powder pilots. These skis were created to make the absolute most out of every powder turn.RockerRocker at the tip and tail equates to 45% rocker, 55% effective edge. Sounds like a lot but it works perfectly with the shaping. The camber underfoot makes the most of the carbon construction and stable 21m radius.CoreThe horizontally laminated core uses aspen next to the edges with another hard wood, ash, laid in the middle, over the top of the lighter paulownia. This mix of 3 woods provides exactly the right blend of strength, weight, and durability. Above and below this are the propriety carbon laminates that give DPS skis their unique feeling.ConstructionThe DPS R&D team have engineered a construction with a horizontally combined core, innovative new sidewall technology and carbon layers to produce a supremely damp and stable platform. The result is a breakthrough in on-snow feel that combines both excitement and liveliness, with simultaneous dampness and control.eB tester’s comments: Joseph (Aviemore) Surprisingly good on the pistes and exceptionality good off-piste. They move around easily and grip well on hard snow. This would be an amazing resort ski for powder days and will have you sniffing out stashes all day long.Size (cm)Tip Width (mm)Waist Width (mm)Tail Width (mm)Radius (m)Weight (g)178139117125211851401171272119114111712721General InformationSkier Ability: Advanced|expertRocker: Tip/Tail RockerRadius: LongBase: SinteredBindings: Ski sold flatDIN: n/aConstruction: Mini Cap Full SidewallCore: Wood, CarbonDemo: NoSizing Description: Forehead to over head height. The increased length ensures better grip, stability and floatation and is essential to making the ski work to its full potential. Large rockers at the tip mean it is important not to size down.
