Ben Sarek is an excellent variety of Blackcurrant fruit bush for the small - medium size garden or allotment, as this plant grows neat and compact. The blackcurrant is a vigorous, high yielding fruit bush that produces large glossy black fruits, forming from green, insignificant flowers in summer. An abundance of blackcurrants appear from mid July-mid August, which makes them easy to pick. The fruits are brilliant for freezing and perfect for pies and jams. Ben Sarek has good resistance to mildew and frost.
