DeWalt's new 12v range of compact power tools shares battery compatibility with the existing 10.8v XR lithium ion range, and one of the first models on this platform is the new DCD701 drill driver. At 38.5mm shorter than the previous generation the DCD701 will fit into even smaller spaces, and it is equipped with an efficient brushless motor that helps it get more work done per battery charge. The new 12v batteries that have been released in conjunction with these tools also feature charge indicators to eliminate the guesswork of how much charge is remaining before starting a job. The DCD701 is lightweight at just 0.9kg excluding battery, so is ideal for overhead work, and features a base mounted LED worklight which ensures strong illumination of the target area without being affected by the shadow from the chuck.
