As part of a mattress range thats aimed at taller than average people, the Super Damask extra-long mattress at 6ft9, is 6 longer than a standard single. Upholstered in a luxurious damask fabric, the mattress blends an extra-firm open coil spring system an layers of hypo-allergenic white fibre fillings. A traditional hand tufted finish is applied at regular intervals across the mattress, with the purpose of ensuring the fillings are held securely in place. The mattress support comes from its robust 12.5-gauge open coil unit, one of the firmest used in mattress manufacturing to provide its extra firm feel. Its a durable system thats made up of hourglass shaped springs that are connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. A thick rod-edge wire is then attached around the perimeter of the spring unit to prevent border breakdown and to provide edge-to-edge support across its width.
