Two in one…The Cupido project was born from a desire to merge two different worlds: technical lighting and decorative lighting. Cupido consists of a long tube of LED light that pierces two fabric lampshades with a double personality. The black aluminium tube contains an LED strip that runs its full length. The plain charcoal grey exterior of the lampshades is sober and elegant. The lampshades have a secret life: inside, a colourful and poetic graphic world flourishes, a true invitation to escape ... The inside of the lampshade is decorated with a superb illustration: an Asian woman’s face of disturbing beauty. Cupido offers a subtle game of transparency. The pattern printed inside the lampshade can be made out due to the transparency once the light is on, creating a magical effect of depth. Cupido is an inhabited, breathing, fully existing lamp...The raw concrete base with its industrial style reinforces the hybrid aspect of this lamp that crosses influences.
