Continental Race King ProTection MTB Tyre A very light and fast cross country race tyre, Continental's Race King ProTection MTB Tyre combines quick, grippy rubber with good puncture protection to maximise speed off-road. The BlackChilli rubber with small, low-profile lugs manages to be both fast-rolling and have great traction thanks to its unique compound, providing prodigious pace on hardpack that makes it a popular choice with XC and marathon racers. The casing is constructed using 3/180tpi for a supple ride feel, with the ProTection layer helping to prevent punctures and damage to the tyre. It is tubeless-ready so can be used without an inner tube, giving still more resistance against punctures and lower rolling resistance, as the casing can better conform to any irregularities on the ground.
