Continental have taken a fresh approach to the venerable multi condition Mountain King trail tyre bringing it bang up to date with wider sizing and more effective tubeless sealing ability. The tread pattern aims to bring superior all round grip from its fast rolling low central tread and grippy shoulder lugs. Continental pitch this tyre at all conditions making it a cost-effective option you can fit and ride on the year round. However, peak performance can be found from dry to wet conditions, as the tyre is likely to roll slowly on hardpack surfaces and is a bit out of its depth in mud. Continental Pure Grip ranks just behind their Black Chili compound with a slight reduction in grip and increased rolling resistance, the tradeoff is a reduced cost and higher durability for increased mileage.
