Pure and essential in their form, ‘Les Belles Matières’ by Cire Trudon’s quatuor of unique candles unfolds. A vegetal composition, the fine perfumes naturally orchestrate woody, floral and fruity fragrances: Reggio comes infused with mandarin from Calabria; Tadine flirts with sandal wood from New Caledonia while Madurai blooms with Indian jasmine. A geographic odyssey, the collection travels back to the origins of rare perfumes: it delves into the rich hours of botanical discoveries and reveals the genesis of grand olfactory adventures. Imported from Australia by British botanists at the turn of the 19th Century, mimosa has since become the Côte d’Azur’s fl oret. The solar bushes first flourished in the sumptuous gardens of rich English families wintering in Nice, before it blossomed on the hillsides of the Esterel Massif, a Mediterranean coastal mountain range.
