Museum Selection Christmas Tree Advent Calendar
Description
‘O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree How lovely are thy branches!’ Our nostalgic Advent calendar recalls the tabletop tree setup by Prince Albert which was immortalised in the illustration "The Queen"s Christmas tree at Windsor Castle", appearing in the "Illustrated London News" in 1848. Before 1958 there was no chocolate in advent calendars, instead, families were excited to discover what festive images were hidden behind each door. This advent calendar features classic Christmas symbols such as a rocking horse, a teddy bear and a nutcracker sitting underneath an extravagantly decorated Christmas tree. Please note, this item is not freestanding a ribbon for hanging is included.
