Description
The Charnwood SS18F Scroll Saw is perfect for hobby, craft and model making. It’s fitted with a powerful 120w (0.16hp) smooth running motor, allowing electronic variable speed control from both machine mounted and foot pedal switches. This enables the user precise control over the work, which is placed on the large horizontal fixed steel table. Both hands are free to guide the work piece, while simultaneously controlling the blade speed via their foot operated throttle pedal switch. This is the safest practice for accurate cutting. The SS18F scroll saw can cut up to a depth of 50mm in various materials and its 456mm throat allows diverse shapes to be worked. The parallel arm design gives vertical and tilting cuts up to 45 degrees either side of vertical for high quality results. An air blower keeps dust away from pencil lines to ensure they remain visible when following a template. The addition of the foot pedal switch will transform the way you work with the saw, allowing speeds from 0 to 1550 spm to be controlled via the foot pedal. Once you have tried it you never want to be without it! The ability to stop and start without removing hands from the work piece, allows you to work quicker and more accurately, especially with complex designs. There are 2 types of scroll saw blades available: Pin end and Plain end. The SS18F can use either type.Pin ended blades are easier and quicker to install, they simply hook over the blade hanger.Plain ended blades can be made thinner and are therefore more often used for very fine or intricate cutting. Supplied with 1 Plain type blade, 1 Pin type blade, foot pedal switch, 2m power cable and UK 3 pin plug.Specification: Motor 120w - Blade Length 127mm - Throat Depth 457mm (18") - Max. depth of cut 50mm - Assembled Dimensions (WxDxH) 350mm x 760mm x 400mm.
