Description
Replacement blade for Shinto SR30 saw rasp and file. Re-use the same handle, just change out a worn blade. costs less than buying a complete new tool. The Shinto saw rasp and file is a very unique Japanese tool. The blade is made up of strips of a material similar to a hacksaw blade but with teeth cut on both edges then arranged in a lattice pattern. It is then welded and pinned to form a rigid blade. It can be used for filing down any kind of wood and used by woodturners and wood carvers for shaping. It produces an aggressive cut when required, but can also be delicately controlled. The rasp is double sided with fine teeth on one face and coarse on the opposite face. The coarse face produces an aggressive cut which rapidly removes material. Flipping the saw rasp over and using the finer teeth produces a smooth finish. It is also impossible to clog as the waste material simply falls through the lattice as you work. The SR30 is two handed design for extra control and comfort during use. To flip the blade over, simply loosen the locking screw and the blade is released. The whole process takes only seconds.Unlike other Japanese saws, the Shinto saw rasp cuts on the push stroke. Can be used with the following materials:Soft WoodHard WoodPlywoodChipboardMDFIronCopperAluminiumLeadPlasterboardSoft stonePastilina ClayShinto SR30F SpecificationRasp Length: 255mmRasp Width: 30mmCoarse Teeth: 10tpiFine Teeth: 24tpi.
