Cervelo R5 RED eTap AXS Disc Road Bike 2021 Featuring SRAM's fantastic 12-speed electronic RED eTap AXS Disc groupset, this Cervelo R5 is a super-premium road bike. Whether you're a keen racer, challenge yourself to Grand Fondos, or enjoy nothing more than a coffee ride with friends, you'll make the most out of the ultra-lightweight and incredibly stiff All-Carbon frameset. With reinforcing on key joints, Cervelo has managed to make the R5 the stiffest frameset they've ever built, which makes acceleration instant and handling really sharp. The electronic eTap shifting offered by the SRAM RED AXS groupset is instant and reliable, reacts to the push of the button and is customisable through SRAM's own AXS app. The gearing ratio features smaller chainrings than might be considered traditional, but this is because of the 10-tooth lowest sprocket on the 12-speed cassette, which effectively allows for a similar performance to a mid-compact but with more single tooth gaps between sprockets. The HRD disc brakes are superb too, allowing for controlled braking in any conditions. The Reserve carbon fibre rims are supplied with a 50mm depth that most people find perfect for a whole range of conditions and parcours. They're light enough for climbing high mountains, and aero enough to keep up with the club chaingang. With a 21mm internal with on the rim, the 25mm Vittoria Corsa tyres blow up nicely to provide a generous cushion of air for great comfort. A carbon handlebar, stem and seatpost round off the spec in style and keep the weight of the bike as low as possible.
