At the same time, Castelli has also improved the water-repellent treatment so you'll be able to ride for longer in the rain before water can soak in. However, these improvements aren't to the detriment of breathability, you'll still find the fabric is highly effective at removing sweat to leave you dry and comfortable inside. Another key component for comfort on your winter rides is the inclusion of the Castelli Progetto X² Air seat pad. This pad uses multi-density foams in variable thicknesses to provide support and cushioning where you need it most. A lack of seams eliminates chafing while pedalling, creating a pad that is comfortable for hour after hour. The construction uses minimal seams, to prevent water ingress, and extra material is added over the backside and inner thigh to resist soaking from road spray.
