Captain Scott by Herbert Ponting. Captain Scott, British polar explorer, in the Antarctic, 1911. Scott (1868-1912) on skis during the 'Terra Nova' expedition (1910-1913) to the South Pole. Scott and four companions reached the Pole on 17 January 1912, only to find that the Norwegian expedition under Amundsen had beaten them to their objective by a month. Delayed on their return by blizzards and running out of supplies, Scott and his team died at the end of March. Their bodies and diaries were found eight months later. Produced on 280gsm fine art paper designed for museum-quality reproductions. The paper has a gently textured matt surface making it especially well suited for giclée reproductions of art prints and paintings.
