The Canon LH-DC80 Lens Hood is designed to fit the 24-120mm lens on the Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark II digital camera. The main use of a lens hood is to prevent lens flare and other distortions caused by stray light entering the lens but it also offers some additional protection from accidental knocks.
