(Sorry, we can't mention the name because we don't want to get anybody into trouble.) Well, basically, Buttermilk Choccy Truffles are the vegan version of those. A milk-chocolate-alternative shell encases a smooth, velvety milk-chocolate-alternative filling. How they make them so creamy without any dairy products is almost as much of mystery as why they called themselves Buttermilk! Buttermilk may not be the most vegan-friendly sounding name, but their chocolates definitely are. This family-run business was established by Tracy and David Goad, and it started life as a traditional fudge shop in the heart of Padstow. Now, they've gone completely plant powered. But their good work doesn't stop there, because not only are their products all suitable for those on a plant-based diet, but they're also gluten free and palm oil free. They source their cocoa from a farmers' union, they use EU sugarcane that supports biodiversity, and they have a zero-waste policy when it comes to packaging, so everything is recyclable, contains recycled materials or is reusable. All of which makes these nibbles without the niggles.
