BMC Teammachine SLR01 FOUR Disc Road Bike The BMC Teammachine SLR01 FOUR Disc Road Bike combines electronic shifting with a lightweight, high-performance carbon frame. SRAM’s second-tier Force eTap AXS drivetrain is fully wireless, so there is no chance of cable stretch or contamination degrading performance. The innovative ratios are closer together for better cadence thanks to the use of a 10 tooth small sprocket, but still offer a great range of gears for steep climbs and fast descents. Bluetooth connectivity allows the system to connect to GPS head units and the AXS smartphone app for monitoring various metrics and making customisations. The premium frame has been designed around BMC’s Tuned Compliance Concept Race carbon layup which balances race-orientated stiffness and performance with enough compliance for the biggest Grand Tour stages. Aerodynamics haven’t been forgotten either, with truncated Kamm tail tube shapes featuring heavily along with the ICS2 Integrated Cockpit Design and Aerocore bottle cages, both of which also lower the bike’s real-world drag numbers. The frame and fork have sufficient clearance for 30mm tyres and the CRD-351 SL Carbon wheels are 35mm deep for further aero gains without making them too unruly in difficult, blustery weather conditions.
