Description
A great mid century German dish with a soft triangular shape & striking black, yellow & red decoration. Splashes of yellow contrast with the strong black branching form that dominates this dish & then, ever-so-slightly pumice textured red blotches bring the whole pattern together. Definitely worthy of some high-end snacks. The background glaze is white/cream with light pale pinky brown striations, so the whole dish is as is often the case with pottery of this kind, a fully functioning work of abstract art. There is one small line on the back that seems to have penetrated beyond the glaze. It's about 0.75cm long at & has a light smaller glaze line next to it. Please look at photo seven. Otherwise any issues are age-related wear, some stain in the glaze & a couple of areas on the back where the glaze is not even. I think some of this is simply down to manufacture. The front is great, the only issue being crazing to the glaze, particularly where it is thicker ie. the yellow glaze mostly & superficial light surface scuffing from use.
