Raul Barbieri was born in Milan in 1946. After having taken his degree in Architecture at Milan's Polytechnic, he started to work initially as a professional associate; in 1989 he founded his own practice in Milan which specialized in design, corporate identity and architectural planning. The design and realization of a neighborhood of semi-detached houses in Milan - in the Citt Studi area -, which in 1999 was presented in London on the occasion of the exhibition 'Golden Compass ADI Architectural Design', date back to this period. Barbieri has co-operated with various design schools and has held short courses on design at the 'Ecole National Suprieure de Cration Industrial, LES ATELIERS' of Paris and the European Design Institute of Milan. He has had a long-standing co-operation with ADI, the Association for Industrial Design in his capacity as co-coordinator of the department of designers. Many of his designs have been awarded prizes or selected in major international design competitions. Giorgio Marianelli was born in Castiglioncello, in the province of Livorno, in 1939. He took a degree in Architecture at Milans Polytechnic, then applied his skills specifically to residential planning. The phenomenon of design of 1968 attracted him to Milan, where he worked at Olivettis design practice. During this period he also designed a showroom in New York and the Italian Cinema Pavilion at Venice's Biennale. He then opened his own practice in Milan, focusing on design and interior design but also on graphics and corporate image for Italian and international companies. He co-operated as designer with some of the sectors best-known brands, such as Guzzini, Tronconi, Foppa Pedretti, Zucchetti Rubinetterie and many of his designs have won important international prizes.
