Description
The Audi R8 V8 may well be a relative newcomer to the racing scene, but that has in no way slowed its progress as one of the most popular cars around, both among critics and drivers alike. The quattro all wheel drive system is combined with a design based on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform and the renowned Audi Space Frame to make a car that has secured its reputation as one of the most exciting cars around. Thruxton Motor Circuit is not only home to the British Automobile Racing Club but it also hosts Formula 3 and British Touring Car races. Originally a World War II airfield, the perimeter road was turned into a circuit in 1968 after having been used for motorbike racing from 1950 to 1965. Today, Thruxton has plenty to offer any motoring enthusiast, and the chance to try the Audi R8 V8 on a circuit which has plenty of scope for testing out its incredible handling is one which is sure to appeal. Drivers will report to reception on arrival, where they will receive a warm welcome and be asked to show their driving licence and sign an indemnity form. The expert instructors will give drivers a short health and safety briefing before they take to the track. The instructor will get behind the wheel of a Skoda Octavia RS for three demonstration laps with the participant in the passenger seat experiencing the thrill of travelling at high speeds. Then, once they are familiar with the track and have picked up the tips and tricks of when to brake and when to put their foot to the throttle, it’s time to get into the Audi for 3 laps. The high-tech engineering and attention to detail will impress drivers as they fling this amazing car around the track, testing their nerve as they race through the bends and providing a white-knuckle
