White Rose de Alix is a true celebration of curled, velveteen rose petals. Created by perfumer Julie Pluchet, the Eau de Toilette is an romantic perfume that opens with the sweet-citrus tones of raspberry and aquatic litchi before a bouquet of peony, freesia and jasmine petals blossom in the heart, with the quintessential brightness of white rose taking centre stage. This blend created a shimmering 'rose garden freshness' while the precious stigmas from the flowering saffron crocus provide an ever-so-soft warmth as you recall their distinctive golden colour. A warm chypre harmony of patchouli and white musk unveils itself in the base, priming sensual depth as they layer with cosy, sweet vanilla and leathery and ambery labdanum.Top notes are Raspberry, Litchi. Heart notes are Rose, Peony, Freesia, Jasmine, Saffron. Base notes are Patchouli, White Musk, Vanilla, Labdanum.   Why it's Escentual: We love the rich history and heritage between this Atkinsons fragrance. Originally launched in 1860, the original White Rose became a legend at the beginning of the 20th century; it was even the signature scent of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia. Widely regarded as the most beautiful consort on any throne, Empress Alexandra adored flowers even from an early age, and she received daily arrivals of the most voluminous bouquets straight from the Riviera. Amidst all of this fragrant abundance within her boudoir was the sanctuary of her dressing table. Pride of place amongst many family photographs atop the dresser was an image of her grandmother, Queen Victoria. Next to the grand matriarch sat a beloved bottle of White Rose, housed in a beautiful, customised bottle, which now resides in the Tsarskoe Selo museum in St Petersburg. Today's updated White Rose is created by expert perfumer Julie Pluchet, who has faithfully revived the romantic essence of its predecessor, with a ravishing update of the palette of ingredients. It still has the ultra-romantic floral rose tone that feels both like a wedding bouquet fit for royalty, while it's been modernised for the 21st century.   The Best Way To Use It: Spritz White Rose de Alix directly onto your pulse points.
